When most people hear the name Kimi Werner here in Hawai‘i, one of the worlds best female skin divers comes to mind. While Kimi is indeed just that, she is also a beautiful spirit and an amazing artist. As an avid skin diver and spear fisherwoman, Kimi understands and sees first-hand the need to protect our oceans. Kimi is a Pūpūkea resident and fully supports having Marine Life Conservations Districts so much so that she recently dedicated half the proceeds of her TREAD LIGHTLY art collaboration with VANS to us here at MPW.
The exhibit features 12 one-of-a-kind, hand-painted pairs of VANS shoes, and 2 oversized pairs, along with storyboard insights from Kimi, and underwater imagery. The entire collection is up for sale with 100% of money raised going equally to to Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, and Malama Pupukea-Waimea.
The display can currently be seen at Town Restaurant in Honolulu.
