Ka Papa Kai kids were featured in an article which was posted in the Star Advertiser by Susan Scott on July 30, 2012.
“Pupukea tide pool contains feeble shrimp full of charm”
Nai‘a was a participant in our summer Ka Papa Kai. Nai‘a, Awakea, Sariyah, and Daysha received “shrimp manicures” one day as we were studying the pools. Nai‘a later took her aunt Susan Scott (a marine biologist who has a column called Ocean Watch with the Star Advertiser) to the tide pools to share what she had learned at Ka Papa Kai. Susan included their experience in the July 30th edition of the Star Advertiser!
