Marine debris is a threat to all. Fortunately, here in the Pūpūkea Marine Life Conservation District, we don’t see the invasion of marine plastics floating in on the currents from other places – however – sadly, we see way too much trash left behind by beachgoers and park users. This type of marine debris is preventable.
In 2016, we removed over 1600 pounds of trash. Our goal for 2017 is 2000 pounds. Join us to help pick it up!
MPW would like to send a special mahalo out to “Da Hui Annual Beach Cleanup” and to “808 Cleanups” for regularly helping to make our beaches a cleaner place for fish and other living things.
