Mililani High School’s Environmental Science classes, led by Sandy Webb, visited the Cove this week to study and give back. About 50 students in grades 11 and 12 received a presentation about the Marine Life Conservation District from Jenny Yagodich, MPW’s Director of Educational Programs, conducted in-water tidepool vertebrate and invertebrate surveys and participated in a beach clean-up.
“The students were bright and engaging. It’s a great feeling to know there are so many young people interested in the environment and helping to take care of our fragile marine ecosystem” Jenny said.
Mahalo to Sandy Webb and to all the students who spent the day at the Cove.
