The students of Ka Papa Kai (MPW’s Marine Science for Youth class) visited Moku o Lo‘e, commonly known as Coconut Island, home to the Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology. After a fun boat ride and a plankton tow over to the island, the students became scientists for the day as they helped to remove sea creatures from invasive seaweed, participate in a shark eating habit study, and learn about various invertebrates.
